Arlington Street Investments secures former Brookfield executive to lead its operations

ED ROMANOWSKI JOINS ARLINGTON STREET INVESTMENTS AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER.
Calgary, AB — Ed Romanowski, former director of Special Projects at Brookfield Residential has joined Arlington Street Investments (ASI) as Chief Operating Officer (COO). This marks another milestone in what has been a year of significant growth for the Calgary-based company, despite the challenging economic environment.
Romanowski’s career spans over three decades in real estate development, construction, business operations, management consulting and government. He founded Bellstar Resorts, a leading resort property development and management firm in 2003. In 2015, he played an instrumental role in the sale and transition of premier Canadian luxury home builder, Albi Homes — of which he was a Senior Vice President — to Brookfield.
Romanowski was educated in planning, engineering, architecture, valuations and real estate development in both Canada and the U.S. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts Honours from the University of Winnipeg, and a Masters of City Planning from the University of Manitoba. He is a Certified Management Consultant and a fellow of the Quantum Shift Leadership Program at the Ivey Business School. Ed is active in his community, sitting on numerous industry boards, while teaching at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business. His community and volunteer efforts include:
• Past Chair & Member of the Board of the Canadian Resort Development Association;
• Past Chair of the Tourism & Hospitality Industry Advisory Committee at the University of Calgary, Haskayne School of Business;
• Instructor at the Haskayne School of Business;
• Member, Dean’s Advisory Council, Faculty of Business & Economics, University of Winnipeg; and,
• Member of the Board for the Edge School for Athletes and the Calgary French & International School.

ASI has completed over $36 million in property acquisitions in the last six months, making it one of the largest property owners along Calgary’s 17th Avenue high street. Upon completion, these assets will represent upwards of $200 million in new development within its portfolio which exceeds $1 billion dollars.
